Do not Blame Vectorize it: What is a Vector graphic?

An accident has been spotted under the cover of darkness. Police came for rescue. No eyewitness. After investigations, CCTV footage found hanging above the walls of the street with someone who might be the killer.

The in-charge got a grainy image. "Can We blow it up and enhance it?" he asks. But the only answer for this question is no. Easy image enhancement is the most dramatic and mostly used in tvs.

You can make alterations to the contrast in order to sharpen the image somewhat, but pixels that does not exist can not be added to enhance the image. Because photos from the footage contain a finite number of pixels. as they are made of pixels. They are raster graphics . Lets get into what is vector graphic? and how it is different from raster graphics?

                                   Vector graphics VS Raster graphics:

Raster graphics also known as bitmap are built using pixels. It means the image in that format are literal maps of bits or pixels that are in together in a specific layout. A certain number of pixels construct a raster image.  raster graphics are not as versatile as vector graphics, but they are much better for photo editing.

Some of the raster file types are: .jpg, .gif, .png, .tif.

As opposed to , Vector graphics are composed with mathematical equations or basic geometric elements like points, lines, and shapes. The primary function of a vector graphic format is  to be a source file for graphics,logos and illustrations. Vector graphics are typically used to creat simpler images.

Some of the vector files types are:  .ai, .eps, .pdf, and .svg.
